Not my Mother Tongue!

I recently discovered the Dino Lingo language learning system for children. As the name implies, it allows your child to learn a new language basically from scratch. I'm guessing that this would be good also for persons interested in a refresher course on the basics of any language. It was very interactive in terms of being presented as a cartoon and the music was quite upbeat, well suited to grasp the attention of children. I would recommend this as a system to teach your child a new language! Check it out here ------>

"Change" Round Two..........

On May 24th 2010, Trinidad and Tobago voted for "change"; a change from the old regime to the new, a change of government. Most of us including myself are still waiting on that change. Needless to say our dream of unity and rising together has been unfruitful, with some definitely "rising" high above all the rest of us.

The political cycle in Trinidad and Tobago is a tiring one and one that seems never ending. On a more positive note, I see this as a call to arms for all the people of Trinidad and Tobago. This should be a wake up call for all the people of this country to have the government we really want for they are there to serve us and therefore must do just that. There should be no "airs" of superiority or abandonment of constituents after elections for a servant is only free to do as the master allows.

This being said, there is the need for individuals with real morals and unwavering ethics to take charge of serving this country; a people with a God to answer to at the end of the day for their actions. I now call for all the people of faith to rise up and take up our God given destiny to be the head and not the tail; to be above and not beneath.  Let us become the servants of this country the way God intended it to be, doing to others as we would do to ourselves and serving in love as God would have us do. The time has come!

Season Your Meat!



Hi folks! I know it's been a while :( but I'm back! I want to share with you all a quick and easy way to season chicken. So let's get started!

1) Start by washing the meat and dump it all into a clean bag ( I cleaned out a grocery bag but zip lock bags work great as well).

 Put all your "seasonings" into the same bag as the chicken. I like to use the fresh green seasoning I have in my backyard garden.

2) Combine all the ingredients together in the bag and give it a good shake. Be careful not to rip the bag like I did :(

3) After this you're basically done! You can even store some extra chicken in the same bag in the freezer. This makes this way of preparation very convenient.

God placed us on this earth to live. Life doesn't start when you get a good job or when you finally pass your exams. Life is going on even now; it is taking place all around us even if we realise it or not. We should enjoy every moment of our life. Living is not in the chase; it is in the moment. Do not be bogged down by the material things in life. Learn first to be happy with nothing (just yourself) so that you could be happy with anything. Be happy with who you really are without all the trimmings of a great job, a nice car or even a fancy home. When you could do this, then you will have all you really need to live:)

Products to try.....

These are some new products I picked up yesterday.

 I know Easter is coming up and that means bathing suits for a lot of us :s . I wanted my skin to look even so I picked up some products from Ambi. The first was their Cocoa Butter Cleansing Bar. 

It was only $12.95 at Pennywise. It says that it is supposed to help moisturise and even your skin tone. I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell like sulphur as other lightening soaps usually do. It felt very gentle on my skin and was not drying at all. I've only used it once so I'll have to wait a while longer to see if/how the discolourations fade. 

I also picked up their Even & Clear Targeted Mark Minimizer. This though was $72 for one ounce :s . At this price I should not have to wait two weeks like it says lol! Anyway, it had a pleasant scent which surprised me as much as the soap and I though that it was also very moisturising. However, it was not sticky and absorbed quickly into the skin. The other product I picked up was shoe insoles from Payless. I like heels but they are literally a pain to wear since my feet are basically flat and I practically have no instep. So, I decided to get insoles to see if they would help (since I had already spent money on the shoes anyway).

These are what the shoes look like. They are 5-inch heel booties of sorts. I got them at Payless last year so I doubt that they are still available.

The insoles only cost $15 dollars. There were also gel insoles for $40 that I also plan to get for my work shoes! I just need somewhere to go now to test them out. 

  

Finally, I got an angled/brow/liner brush for Cala. It was from their Naturale line which I love to look at. The packaging is really lovely for their eco-tools line. The brush is just as lovely as well with a bamboo handle and cruelty free hair. It was only $13. Inspirational Bible #2

Matthew.7:7-8

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened:"

Don't be afraid to ask God for what you want. He told you to! Go ahead, ask even now! God is waiting. He also tooks it a step further and said to seek and knock; seek out opportunities and the door to those opportunities will be opened up for you. Don't sit still and expect God to do all the work for you. It's all already been done. So take the first step today and walk into the destiny that God has for you!!!!!!

Products to try.....

Yesterday I went to the supermarket, and though they are really simple, I came across some really amazing things. They may be quite random but I really liked them.

1) The first one(s) were  two granola bars from Nature Valley. I know that these are very common and are in fact not recent products but it was only yesterday that I tasted the Oats 'N Dark Chocolate and the Apple Crisp.

I actually bought three (the cinnamon being the third), but I have already eaten the Oats 'N Dark Chocolate and the Apple Crisp and the packaging is in the bin so I just put a picture of this last one. The only problem foe me is that its a tad bit sweet..... or maybe I'm just getting older? Anyways, here are photos I sourced of the other two:

I would definitely buy in bulk in the 12 bar boxes. These all retail for $5 ($4.99). For those in T&T, I got them at Hi-Lo Foods Stores in St.Augustine.

2) The second item is more household and is a new favorite of mine. Its the new Quix Turbo Degreaser with Lime. I am always skeptical about miracle dishwashing products that are supposed to get rid of all grease in just one swipe but I was actually impress. It did get rid of the grease very easily and quickly with just a little of the product. I am very happy to finally see a product that does what it says and isn't just a marketing ploy. Well done Quix!!! It is a definite repurchase and you all should try it out because it really works!!!

Also bought at Hi-Lo Food Stores retailing at $10.

Inspirational Bible #1

Today's inspiration comes from the Biblical book of Nehemiah.2:20 ;

"Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: ..."

The people of Israel faced a daunting task of rebuilding their city wall after they were defeated and their city destroyed by their enemies. Nehemiah was spear heading the project while the people were discouraged and dismayed. He instead looked to God for their prosperity and success in rebuilding the wall of an entire city. He kept his eyes on God and what God had inspired him to do.What has God inspired you to do today? Is it one thing? Are they many things? Make a list of all the inspirations of your heart. Why haven't you done anything yet? God will light your way and lead you into His destiny for your life. Just leave it to Him. Keep your eyes on God and you will have faith to move mountains. Now go make that list and start getting busy with God!!!

Follow your passions and inspirations given by God!!!
